June 2022 – B2F Birrificio Due Fusti

A brewery in the canton of Vaud, this is the story of Sergio and Mattia. The two friends, who both grew up in Ticino, moved to Lausanne for their studies and in 2017 they opened their brewery in Penthalaz, north of Lausanne.
It’s been a long road to the brewery. Characterized by first brewing experiments in Sergio’s kitchen, a lot of reading on the subject and exchanges with other brewers and sommeliers. Sergio and Mattia want to know everything about their favorite beverage and deal extensively with the various ingredients and production.

The name of the brewery, often just called B2F, is a play on words. In Italian, “fusti” means both beer barrels and “strong guys.”
Strong they may be, but in their beers they focus on finesse and make a point of preserving the typical characteristics of the various beer styles. One beer, one style – so simple.

Swiss Brewery Number: 985 (Since 2017)

Beer 1

Pale Ale

Alc.Vol 5.7%

Blonde beer, balanced and refreshing
Pale Ale B2F is a blonde, modest and quality beer. It is aimed at both those who are not yet accustomed to the flavors of craft beer, and those who, tired of too complex styles, seek comfort in a simple and reassuring drink. A trait d’union between industrial beer and a universe of flavors, aromas and scents that await you somewhere out there.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, hops, yeast.

Beer 2

Brown Ale

Alc.Vol 5.6%

Dark and light beer, made with roasted malts
Brown Ale B2F was born from the desire to combine the lightness of a simple beer with the complex and decisive character of a dark beer. Not demanding, nor overly full-bodied, it lends itself to carefree drinking, both summer and winter. Little sister of Porter and Stout, our Brown Ale is a good introduction to the universe of dark beers. To try!
Ingredients: water, barley malt, hops, yeast.

Beer #3

Red Ale

Alc.Vol 6.6%

Red beer, fruity and tasty
Red Ale B2F is prepared with special grains which, dried at higher temperatures than the light ones, give rise both to the red color of the finished product and to its malty and persistent flavor. The structure is slender and elegant; hops guarantee freshness. Savored at the end of the day, listening to a Dire Straits record, it relieves stress and strengthens the spirit.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, hops, yeast.

Beer 4

India Pale Ale

Alc.Vol 6.6%

Amber, aromatic, and dry hopped beer
The flavor of IPA, one of the most popular styles of the moment, probably derives from a commercial need of the past: in order to export the barrels to distant countries (such as India), British brewers in fact prepared stronger and more hopped beers. Alcohol and the antibacterial powers of hops thus ensured better conservation of the product during long sea voyages. A flavor, a story.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, hops, yeast.

Beer 5

Weizen

Alc.Vol 5.7%

Wheat beer, fresh and carefree
Inspired by the German tradition of wheat beers, Weizen B2F relies on a specific yeast to release all the characteristic perfumes and aromas of the style. Clear and refreshing, this beer is less bitter and more complex in flavor than a classic blonde. A beer garden, a special evening, a mischievous beer: everything else no longer matters.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, wheat malt, hops, yeast.

Beer 6

American Pale ALe

Alk.Vol 5.6%

Blonde beer, flavored with five American hops
Produced with light and simple malts, the APA B2F leaves ample space for hops which, with its bitter and citrus resins, conquers the stage. Chinook, Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe and Amarillo: here are the names of the five American hops which, combined, make up the fresh, lively and sprightly flavor of this beer. To drink while dancing the best soul pieces of Aretha Franklin.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, hops, yeast.
